RESTORE

PEGASUS FLIES AGAIN

 Created in 1934 atop the then tallest building west of the Mississippi River, the giant flying red horse representing Magnolia Oil (now ExxonMobil) was taken down and has now been restored to its former glory. A short film by Mark Birnbaum. 

THE BATTLE OF THE ALAMO

 A mammoth diorama of the Battle of the Alamo, at the Hall of State in Dallas' Fair Park, is brought to life in this short film by Mark Birnbaum.

Fire Bones is a whimsical Southern Gothic story told in ten chapters via multiple mediums, including podcasts, short films, music videos, poems, and still images.

Fire Bones follows the journey of discovery that a poet and filmmaker make as they are introduced to the tale and mystery of a missing pilot and Pentecostal preacher who vanished on a transatlantic flight. A short film by Bart Weiss.

Frame of Mind has grown into a multi-episode TV series, presented by KERA’s Art&Seek and produced by Bart Weiss, co-founder of Dallas VideoFest and the Video Association of Dallas. The 31st season will air on Thursdays at 10 p.m. starting October 5 through December 21.

This season will showcase a diverse range of Texas filmmakers as they explore various aspects of our rich Texan culture. The films highlight the joys of connecting with others, and the distinctiveness of our vibrant heritage, and provide viewers with a deeper understanding of our state's shared bonds and history.
